fall trends

My news-feeds being filled and over-crowded with the current trends, I just can’t talk myself out of the arrival of this harsh season anymore, that’s, by the way, also my favorite season in terms of fashion. You get to layer, wear flats the one day and boots the other day, sport your leather jackets, or leave the house in nothing but a cozy knit and a huge scarf. There’s an infinity of possibilities and that’s what I like about it. The magazines and recent web-issues are also doing their job by reminding me that the end of summer is here and that it’s time to throw the light stuff out and get the warm pieces in.

But which, wearable, items are worth stocking up on that will take you from the morning to the evening? Since we all gotta get ready when the leaves start to turn yellow and fall, here’s my personal, top 4 of pieces that you need for the coming season that are not only trend but will keep you nice and warm as well.

1.Poncho/Blanket Cape

Outerwear is a crucial element for any fall-wardrobe. And with designers showing every possible version of the blanket ponchos/capes lately, it’s definitely the moment for this trend to hit the streets big time. After all, the haut-de-gamme of street-stylers is sporting this look for a while already, whether it is by just throwing the jacket over the shoulders or by actually wearing this classic silhouette piece. I adore mixing these with different fabrics for a more polished look.

2.Over the knee boots

These are already hot for the third fall in a row and I love it. Last year I decided on a black suede pair but I noted that a grey or brown suede pair would also make a great addition to the shoe wardrobe. After all, thigh high boots give you the option of wearing a dress in autumn without feeling cold, because of that extra bit of coverage they provide. While the boots were a bit on the looser end the past season,we find ourselves drawn towards a look that encapsulates the leg and gives it a sleek finish for this year

 3.Turtleneck Shirts

Sometimes we all just want to snuggle in the biggest knit around, right? Well, there’s rescue to come because the designers did a great job by giving us an endless load of choices this season. The cherry on top being the turtleneck or funnel neck sweaters. These are a fundamental and look fantastic when layered under a dress or when spiced up with a drop-dead gorgeous necklace. It keeps your neck warm and gives you a stand-out silhouette. Just make sure to opt for pieces with a medium neck that are a bit more structured to avoid this trend devouring your entire face.

shearling trend fall

For the crisp cold days that will hit upon us sooner than we want it, there’s Shearling and luckily, there’s lots of this cuddly, teddy-like fabric. We already lived this trend last year with over-sized coats, jackets and accessories. Acne being a dream in shearling with their Velocite jacket, there’s also some budget-friendly alternatives. Nothing keeps you warmer, fluffy fashion you know?
